Biography

Leah Berry is a civil trial attorney with more than 25 years of litigation experience representing clients in complex civil matters throughout California. Her practice focuses on insurance defense, traumatic brain injury, catastrophic injury, wrongful death, premises liability, construction-related litigation, and other high-exposure claims. Having represented both plaintiffs and defendants during her career, Ms. Berry brings a balanced and strategic perspective to case evaluation, litigation, mediation, and trial.

 

Ms. Berry has substantial first-chair trial experience handling complex matters throughout California and is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Central District of California. She is known for her practical approach to litigation, strategic case assessment, and strong courtroom advocacy. Passionate about trial work, Ms. Berry particularly enjoys the strategy, preparation, and courtroom presentation involved in trying cases. She also actively mentors young attorneys in developing their trial advocacy skills.

 

Ms. Berry earned her Bachelor’s degree in Criminology and Law from the University of Florida in 1992 and her Juris Doctor from Western State University College of Law in December 1997, where she received American Jurisprudence Awards (AmJur Awards) in Criminal Law, Evidence, and Legal Writing II. She was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1998 and is currently pending admission to The Florida Bar.

 

Ms. Berry is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), Orange County Chapter, California.

 

As a proud Army mom, Ms. Berry values discipline, resilience, and service both inside and outside the courtroom. Now based in Florida, she volunteers with Mercy Full Project, an animal rescue organization in Tampa, and is committed to giving back to her community. Outside of her legal practice, she enjoys an active lifestyle and has run charitable marathons supporting causes including prostate cancer awareness and children’s advocacy organizations. She is also involved in fundraising events and ruck marches benefiting soldier mental health and suicide prevention causes.
