The Aguilera Law Group is a leader in the area of insurance coverage and claims. Our coverage team handles complex matters for insurance industry clients across the United States and have experience in virtually every line of business.

The Aguilera Law Group represents clients in federal and state appellate courts throughout the country, including state supreme courts, the thirteen federal circuit courts, and the U.S. Supreme Court. We provide valuable assistance to clients at all stages of litigation, during and prior to trial, pre- and post-verdict, and throughout the appeals process. The firm’s attorneys have successfully handled appellate matters in such diverse legal areas as contract law, business torts, class actions, medical device and drug litigation, toxic torts, intellectual property, insurance coverage, subrogation, professional liability, securities, labor and employment, health law, and white collar crime.

The firm’s front-line appellate advocates use their skills to ensure the best possible outcome on appeal. During trial, they work closely with lead trial counsel to frame issues; ensure that the record is properly developed and protected; and identify the best factual and legal arguments for any appeal. After the close of trial, appellate attorneys provide an integrated analysis of the trial record and relevant case law; write persuasive briefs and appellate documents; and advocate in court before appellate judges and panels. What differentiates The Aguilera Law Group’s appellate lawyers is their deep understanding of the trial process, ability to conduct sophisticated analyses of pertinent legal theories that will be compelling to an appellate court, and commitment to providing practical, business-minded counsel. Our attorneys are particularly well informed about current trends in the appellate field and are able to offer clients prescient strategic advice.

The Aguilera Law Group's Insurance Litigation group has been litigating major coverage disputes for years.

The Aguilera Law Group has played a central role in crafting the coverage landscape that exists today. From issues of conflicts of appointed counsel to the rights of carriers to control the defense to the reimbursement of monies that never should have been paid, The Aguilera Law Group has been on the forefront of litigating these issues to success.

Although historically we have concentrated on insurers, our attorneys also represent insured clients in selected cases where no conflict exists.

We represent insurance companies in complex cases arising out of insurance coverage and bad faith/extra contractual disputes. Our cases have involved asbestos, professional liability, environmental, toxic tort, construction, products, advertising injury, personal injury and workers compensation claims.

We aggressively represent our clients in their pursuit of court rulings that accurately reflect the intended meaning and application of the insurance policies at issue. Some lawsuits involve many other insurance carriers and in many of those cases, our attorneys have acted as members of the Steering Committee or Liaison Committee, taking an active role in the management and resolution of the lawsuit.

Our lawyers have extensive experience litigating cases in both Federal and State courts in the Western United States. Besides our trial court experience, we maintain an active appellate practice. Our lawyers have represented parties and amici curiae in many cases that have resulted in the leading published opinions in California, as well as decisions in other state and Federal courts that have influenced insurance law.
